Wi-Fi Based Solar Plant Monitoring System

Renewable energy systems are quickly becoming the most efficient way to generate electricity. Because solar plants are generally decentralized, it is difficult to monitor them. This paper presents a low-cost prototype for real-time monitoring of a solar plant that collects current, voltage, and power values from sensors via Wi-Fi. The proposed system is made up of two major components: the first is the hardware interface modules, where the end module receives data from the string combiner via an RS232 interface. Then it is enabled to scan, discover, and connect to the main module via AP.
