Toxic Chemical-Free Mobile Phase HPLC Determination of Malachite Green and Leuco-malachite Green

Ā This chapter discusses a reserved-phase high-performance liquid chromatographic (HPLC) method for detecting malachite green (MG) and leucomalachite green (LG) using an isocratic hazardous organic solvent/reagent-free mobile phase (LMG). In terms of environmental conservation, human health, and the economy, eliminating the use of harmful solvents and reagents is a critical goal. Chromatographic separations were carried out on an InertsilĀ® WP300 C4 with a photodiode-array detector and a 0.02 mol/L octane sulfonic acid-ethanol mobile phase. The film lasted roughly 5 minutes in total. The system’s suitability passed all international acceptance norms. It has been identified a safe method for concurrently detecting MG and LMG, which could be used to quantify meals in the future.
