Enterprises are increasingly turning to Managed Service Providers to outsource their IT-related activities. The primary goal of implementing a managed service is to delegate responsibility for managing IT assets to a managed service provider (MSP) in exchange for a financial benefit. An MSP’s delivery capability must be assessed in a standardized manner, which can be accomplished by developing a Maturity model for the purpose. A study was carried out in order to create a Maturity model for Managed Service providers. This model was tested in a specific environment, and the results were recorded. The model had to go through several iterations and was refined during implementation. Maturity scores for target rating were finalized after discussions with functional domain customer teams.
