Prospects for the Use of Martensites in the Manufacture of Adaptive Anti-Slipping Spikes: Advanced Study

The need of developing a unique device, such as an adaptable anti-slipping spike, and the prospects for using martensites in its fabrication are discussed in this article. The device is associated with the automotive sector, specifically with anti-slip spikes. These spikes are installed in the treads of automobiles’ tyres to improve their adherence to the road. Traditional anti-slip spikes can’t solve two problems at once: ensuring maximum adherence of the vehicle’s wheel to the road surface and minimising the harmful effect of slippage. spikes in the road surface to prevent slipping These duties are accomplished by the suggested device, which is shaped and sized like typical anti-slip spikes but includes a retractable pin. Materials with a negative coefficient of heat expansion or martensitic materials can both operate the pin. The article discusses the advantages and disadvantages of using them.
