Jio, Airtel and Vodafone Idea: How to quickly enable caller tunes on your number
Need to programme a caller tune for your phone number? On your Airtel, Jio, or Vodafone Idea number, follow these steps.
With the useful feature known as “caller tunes,” callers can listen to a pre-selected segment of their favourite song as they wait for you to answer the phone. Some people may find that listening to music instead of the standard ringtone while they wait is more enjoyable.
All of India’s major telecom companies now provide caller tunes, which were earlier a premium service, without charge. Find out how to add a free caller tune to your Jio and Airtel phone numbers here. Remember that Vodafone Idea does not offer free caller music. Make sure you’re connected to Wi-Fi or Mobile Data because you’ll need an active internet connection for this.
How to set a caller tune on Airtel
On Airtel, users will need to download the Wynk Music application, available on the Play Store and App Store. Once installed and set up, navigate to the ‘Hello Tunes’ icon on the top right. ‘Hello Tunes’ is Airtel’s version of caller tunes.
Note that users will have to come back to Wynk every 30 days to confirm their Hello Tune. Otherwise, the service will be deactivated in 30 days. However, it will continue to be free.
How to set a caller tune on Jio
On Jio, users can set a caller tune straight from the MyJio app, which they probably already use to monitor remaining data and recharge with new plans. If not, users will first need to download the MyJio app from the App Store or Play Store.
Once set up, users can open the MyJio app and navigate to the ‘Music’ tab, which will be next to the Mobile and Fiber tabs. Once selected, four new tabs will open up at the bottom of the page – Home, JioTunes, Browse and My Library. Select JioTunes, which is Jio’s version of caller tunes.
A search bar will be shown at the top of the screen. Check here to see if a JioTune is available for your favourite song by searching for it. If so, a list of search results will appear beneath the search bar.
To play a song, click on it. Additionally, you may be given the choice to select from several different song segments on some tunes.
To try the extract, select the Play button on the side of each choice. To set the song, select the ‘Set JioTune’ option at the bottom.
How to set a caller tune on Vodafone Idea
Vodafone Idea users can set a caller tune with the Vi app via Hungama Music which is available for both Android and iOS users. However, note that the caller tune service on Vodafone Idea is not free and users must buy a subscription pack starting at Rs 49.
The music tab may be found inside the Vi app on the top right after downloading and installing it from the Play Store or App Store.
You may use the search feature to find the song you want in the music area by clicking the search button in the bottom right corner.
Once you’ve located the song you want, play it and, right below the album art image, you’ll see the option to “Set Caller tune.”
Your selected track will then be set as your caller tune once you are asked to select one of the several subscription bundles available.
