Exploring Diverse Interactions of Some Surface-Active Ionic Liquids with Amino Acids Prevalent in Aqueous Environments by Physicochemical Contrivance: Experimental investigation
In order to study the molecular interactions of two (ILS) [BMIM][C8SO4] and [MOIM]Cl with amino acids (AA) (AA= L-tyr, L-phe) in aqueous medium, molar conductivities () at three different temperatures were utilised. The behaviour of the ILs and the chosen amino acids, as well as the spontaneity of the process, were examined by spectroscopic measurements. Since amino acids form the foundation of proteins, they are employed as model substances. Using 1H NMR spectroscopy, it was also possible to see how the electronic states of various protons in ILs changed when various amino acids were present. All the results have been interpreted in terms of possible molecular interactions using the order of ([BMIM] [C8SO4] + L-tyr]> ([MOIM]Cl + L-tyr)> ([BMIM][C8SO4] + L-phe)> ([MOIM]Cl + L-phe] in water. Understanding the mixing effect and other intricate biological processes that take place between amino acids and the selected ionic liquids will be made much easier thanks to the experimental parameters that have been collected. The results obtained from various spectroscopic and conductance measures are further supported by the considerable chemical shifts of ILs protons in the presence of amino acids in 1HNMR experiments.
