A novel sequence of substituted aryl ethynyl integrated quinazolines (11a-j) were designed and synthesised and 1HNMR, 13CNMR, and mass spectral analysis characterised their structures. In addition, these compounds were tested against human cancer cell lines such as MCF-7 (human breast cancer), A549 (human lung cancer), DU-145 (human prostate cancer) and MDA MB-231 (human breast cancer) for their preliminary anticancer activity. Four compounds (11b, 11c, 11d and 11 g) were shown to have more potent activity of all compounds than etoposide.
