Assessment and Investigation of Organizational Factors for Health Management Information System (HMIS) Performance in Elgeiyo Marakwet County, Kenya

Many nations have used Health Management Information Systems (HMIS) using adopted or own-designed platforms. From billing to patient care and beyond, the system is able to provide data on all facets of the enterprise. The goal of the study was to evaluate the organisational factors in Elgeiyo-Marakwet County (EMC) for the success of the Health Management Information System. The basic goal is to evaluate organisational variables for the success of HMIS. The method of quantitative analysis was used and data was obtained from 52 respondents by administering questionnaires. The data was analysed using computer software version 20.0.0. Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) The study found that, as suggested by most of the respondents, there are organisational variables for HMIS success in the county. It concludes that the existence of HMIS structures, organo-gram in the county, use of HMIS structures is evident by the availability of stakeholder organisational relationships (vertical, horizontal) of the frameworks in HMIS resource allocation issues and level of knowledge of health policy, priorities and goals. The study recommends improved support for HMIS success of organisational processes and frequent evaluation in the county.
